The Energee-Saw was designed by product designer and founder of PlayMade Energy, Daniel Sheridan in 2008.

March/April 2008: Pilot Energee-Saw installation conducted at a Ugandan primary school.
November 2008: PlayMade Energy receives a prestigious Lord Stafford Award for ‘Entrepreneurial Spirit’.
2009: UK and Malawi development and testing of a revised design Energee-Saw installation kit.
